Here are the requirements of coaches to be elidgible and allowed to coach in the South Sound Youth Lacrosse League. (Boys lacrosse)

  1. All coaches must submit to a National background check through US Lacrosse with host organization before having contact with players. 
  2. It is required that the Head Coach for each team have a valid US Lacrosse Coaching number, have passed a National background check though US Lacrosse, US Lacrosse Level 1 Certification, Positive Coaching Alliance Course, and must be certified in CPR and First Aid and hold a valid current card.
  3. All assistant coaches are required to have a valid US Lacrosse Coaching number, have passed a National background check though US Lacrosse, and be certified in CPR and First Aid and hold a valid current card.
  4. Each team will have a properly stocked first aid kit, emergency contact list for all team players and a cell phone on the sidelines of all SSL league games and practices. For purposes of contacting emergency vehicles, each team will have the property address of the playing field available at all times. All clubs will have a coach of conduct to include, coaches setting a positive example at practice and games, respecting officials/players/parents and steps to be taken when a coach violates the Code of Conduct.

It is the goal of the University Place Lacrosse club to provide access to all required training for coaches.  Level 1 and 2 training clinics are offered periodically in Western Washington.  Coaches can also gain online training at

The University Place Lacrosse Club will provide a first aid kit and emergency contact list for all team players.  (Coaches must have their own access to a cell phone.)
