Free Pick up and Play Clinic

USA Lacrosse is excited to celebrate the sport of lacrosse this fall from Nov. 6-14, 2021. National Celebrate Lacrosse Week will offer daily themes throughout the event to bring the lacrosse community together virtually and in person to help showcase this special game.

A key component of National Celebrate Lacrosse Week will be free "Pickup and Play" clinics for children, ages 6-14, that will give these youth players a chance to try the sport and connect with local lacrosse organizations. Clinics are designed for youth girls and boys who have never played lacrosse. Participants will receive a great introduction to the sport, get connected to their local community lacrosse organization and receive a pinnie, at no cost!

Registration is now open for the Pickup & Play clinic in Tacoma on 06 Nov. Click here to register.

University Place Lacrosse Club is open to any boy or girl in 3rd thru 8th grade who resides within (or attends a school located within) the boundaries of the University Place School District in University Place, WA.  Girls from Tacoma, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Dupont, Steilacoom, and Fircrest are also welcome to join our club. Our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade program is open to any child interested in lacrosse.

Mission Statement:  The University Place Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization that promotes the sport of lacrosse to youth residing in or attending a school located in the University Place School District boundary.  This is accomplished through properly assessed skills and abilities and grade-level placement, teaching proper fundamentals, evolving players through game skills,  qualities required for good sportsmanship, respecting all participants with focus on teamwork, and collaborate with the Curtis High School lacrosse programs.

Our goal is to promote skill development, sportsmanship, team cohesion, personal growth, active community involvement, and love of the sport.

  • To create and maintain grade-level teams focused on teaching fundamental skills and provide challenging competition appropriate for the players' skill and athletic level, while maintaining focus on team concept and individual leadership development.
  • To create a stimulating and engaging learning environment where individuals of differing levels of skill and physical development can appropriately and safely learn to enjoy the game of lacrosse.
  • To provide equal attention and support to all individuals.
  • To engage parents/guardians, community members, and experienced players to instruct, coach, referee, and actively participate in various UPLC activities to establish a strong UPLC network.
